chocolate fortification

so i have a meeting that i am absolutely not looking forward to in a couple of minutes. therefore, to help myself prepare for the meeting....i decided that i needed some fortification...specifically, chocolate fortification. i know... it is before noon and here i am wanting to eat chocolate. am i crazy? nope, i'm just really really really not looking forward to this meeting.

given my mindset, i thought this was a good opportunity to try Potter Family Farm's organic chocolate pudding.

what is so unique about this pudding is that it is sweetened with agave instead of sugar. i picked this up as i have been keeping an eye out for sweets that do not use refined sugars. a loved one is suppose to cut out all refined sugars in their everyday diet and it helps to have more than one set of eyes on the lookout for these sort of things.

so i tried it....

right away, i notice that it isn't very thick. it doesn't have the consistency of kozy shack chocolate pudding or some of the other chocolate puddings i've had.

then i tasted it. the first taste is chocolate...a decent quality chocolate. interestingly enough, the sweetness doesn't come through until later. it isn't bad...i think this will likely be a good alternative for those who are not allowed to have refined sugars in their diet. yet, if you still keep refined sugars in your diet...then it may not be the best option.

unfortunately, it wasn't going to work for my fortification needs.... i really wanted it to! so i made myself some mariebelle hot chocolate instead.
