lunching at corso with CK

when CK suggested having lunch at corso, i thought that was an excellent idea. i did have slight pangs of worry though....and must admit that i did mutter "i hope corso has their game face on" to myself as i walked over to the restaurant. i breathed a sigh of relief as the food was beautifully presented and tasty. the service was also lovely and attentive as usual.

we started with the panzanella (heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, grilled cubes of bread, and watercress tossed with a vinaigrette)..

doesn't that look yummy and refreshing?

next up, we had the gamberi (grilled shrimp, onions, watercress, farro, and cherry tomatoes)....

i thought that this dish looked particularly lovely. we also had the yummy and comforting mushroom and white truffle oil pizza...

it was all very casually elegant and comfortable. i think this is one of the reasons why i keep going back to corso...it has lovely food, wine, and service. it isn't one of those "destination" or "be seen" sort of places. it is a place where you go with your friends and loved ones to catch up on what is going on....knowing that that you'll have some good food and be taken care of.
