treats

while i was at the ferry building on saturday, not only did i run around to my usual stands and grab a lovely broken farro breakfast at il cane rosso, i also stopped into tell tale and recchiuti to purchase some treats for a loved one who is recovering from surgery......

we both have a love of recchiuti's C3 (three types of caramels)...a deep and abiding love for them. also, when we used to work together ages ago, it was then when i discovered that she has a soft spot for pate de fruit as well. i knew that the C3 box was going to go over well, but i also wanted something to be a bit of a surprise, so i went to the tell tale stand and picked up three boxes of their pate de fruit. i had a feeling that she hadn't tried them yet.

the tell tale preserve folks are always really nice. i usually like to stop by for a sweet, a rebel within, or some other nice confection to munch on. while i ordered 3 boxes of the pate de fruit, i mentioned how this was a present for a friend recovering from surgery and the guy asked if i'd like him to put it in a bigger box...

which was perfect.

nope, i didn't open the individual boxes....because it was a present. if you are interested in seeing pics of what the tell tale preserve pate de fruit look like...you can go to the right hand side of the blog and scroll down...i've taken pics of their pate de fruit before. i've also got the pics on my flickr page.

anyway, i thought she'd might like to have treats that she can savor as she recovers. so later in the afternoon, a group of us including the loved one recovering from surgery....met up at caffee pascucci by the ball park. i had never been before and after taking a look at the menu, i can completely see what the appeal is.

i had the most difficult time deciding what to get because there were many things that i was interested in trying. i, obviously, have quite a sweet tooth and i love coffee. i usually prefer my coffee w/out any sort of sweetener but these coffee-infused confections on the pascucci menu were temptingly indulgent.

here are some shots of some of the loved ones at the table were snacking on.....including one of the sweetened yogurts.....

and the cheese plate....

it is almost like going to sweet bar for adults....as opposed to the old fashioned ice cream parlors for kids. so i ordered one of their sweet iced confections.....

and now do you see what i mean about a sweet bar for adults?

next time i visit, i'd like to try the hot chocolate.

well, must go out to do some errands.....i'll probably also stop into OTD for some breakfast (big shock) as well.
