still in head down mode

been a while huh? almost a week actually.

there is a lot going on right now so i've had my "head down" getting stuff done. i must admit that i haven't been the best about leaving my place. i think it is a combination of a lot of things going on at work and i feel like my body is fighting off a cold of some sort. as a result, i've been sipping on quite a bit of emergenc...

along side my copious amounts of proper english tea. meals at home these days have been super simple consisting of standards such a soba seasoned with fish sauce, broad bean soy sauce, chili flakes, bonito, nori, etc...

and yuba strips (hodo soy) seasoned soy sauce and chili garlic sauce.....often paired with braised or roasted veggies.

not very glamorous huh? but very tasty and filling. when i've popped out of my place, it has been for pho for breakfast at OTD on bush....

and luckily was able to chat with my fave FOH person who happened to be on duty that morning. while i was noshing on my breakfast, i noticed that there is a new face in the kitchen btw. it will be interesting to see what he decides to put on the menu.

i also quickly ventured into the heart of darkness to pick up a dozen cream puffs at pacific puffs for the family.....

i bought the classic with chocolate, the strawberry whip version, and the classic version. the sis + the family really love these cream puffs quite a bit. visiting pacific puffs is one of the only reasons you'll find me darting into the marina and immediately darting out again. the brothers that run the place have always been super nice. not to mention, very tolerant as they deftly side step some of the extremely focused attention of a certain type of woman that may come in to buy the puffs and misread small business owner friendliness for something else. as you can tell dear reader, i have a soft spot for watching FOH people having to interact with certain personality types and have to give them props for maneuvering accordingly.

well, break time over. must get back to work.

until later dear hearts....
